Tony Millar - CEO / Principal Consultant
Tony has over 14 years of experience of driving value from organisational investments in IT. After starting off in management accounting and transforming a large UK retailer’s BI and performance management function, Tony has spent the last decade consulting and leading large complex BI projects in varied sectors throughout the UK, Europe, US and Australasia.
Along with his business knowledge in various sectors, Tony completed an MBA in 2003 researching the key variable in IT/IS success and concludes that any “IT payback” ultimately depends on the need for alignment between the IT and organisational strategy. Other qualifications include a B.Com from Canterbury (NZ), post graduate accounting (ACCA,UK) and project management ( PRINCE2 accredited practitioner).
As CEO of Montage; Tony brings a passion for success along with strong leadership that ensures alignment between people, process and technology.
Craig Nowlan - BI Practice Manager / Principal Consultant
Craig began his IT career 16 years ago, developing a capital budgeting system in the telecommunications sector, before moving into Corporate Data Warehousing, and then consulting, Project Managing and leading teams in the implementation of Business Intelligence and CRM projects. Craig’s Business Intelligence engagements have seen him work in sectors as varied as Utilities (telecommunications and energy), Banking, Insurance, and Online business in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
Craig holds a BSc in Computer Science, a diploma in Project Management, and has been a certified Project Manager with the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2006.
Craig prides himself in forming close, professional relationships with senior business stakeholders, and is highly valued for his clear grasp of commercial and operational processes and governance, including Programme Delivery and PMO functions. Craig’s passion is in leading teams to add maximum value to customer engagements, to ensure technology integrates and contributes to commercial success.
Chip Felton - CIO / Principal Consultant
Chip has spent the past two decades helping organizations turn data into actionable business information (BI). He has extensive experience in the health care and government sectors, including health policy and program development, program evaluation and research, health informatics, performance management, and executive leadership. Chip has Master Degrees in Computer Science and also Social Welfare.
Before moving to New Zealand in 2008, Chip served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the New York State Office of Mental Health in the US, the agency responsible for all public funded mental health services delivered to New York’s 19 million citizens. He was responsible for all clinical and administrative information systems, led the development of a comprehensive performance management system and the supporting BI platform, and led organizational change efforts to develop an agency-wide culture of information use and data-driven decision making.
At Montage, Chip is Principal Consultant in the healthcare and government sectors, and works with all clients as needed concerning dashboards and advanced analytics. Within Montage, he assesses emergent BI technologies, evaluates BI products, and conducts quality assurance to ensure that the methods and technologies used with clients are state-of-the-art best practices.
Chris Robinson - Principal Consultant
Chris has over 25 years of experience in software solutions and project leadership within industries such as Health, Manufacturing, Travel, Transport and Call Centres.
Chris has worked both in the UK and in New Zealand, since completing a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from Canterbury University. His experience particularly in the design and development of Data Warehouses has been in the use of Dimensional Modelling and its use in the development of Data Warehouses.
James Mahoney - BI Consultant
James has over 10 years experience in designing and delivering Business Intelligence solutions. A former Team Leader at Waikato District Health Board and Senior Developer at Fonterra, James has a strong background in Health and Manufacturing. With a BCOM in Information Science and excellent knowledge of multiple Business Intelligence technologies and methodologies, including implementation on Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft platforms, James brings a diverse range of skills to any BI project.
Simon Lind - Consultant
Simon has over 10 years experience in delivering solutions throughout Australia and New Zealand, in both Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and CRM applications, As a Lead Consultant, Simon has successfully worked with IT in designing databases, as well as key business users to develop applications and reports that meet their needs. Simon now specialises in Business Intelligence solutions in the HRIS vertical but retains a key interest in BI for other industries including Media.
Prior to joining Montage, Simon was working with leading HRIS solution providers including PayGlobal, ERMLive and EmployeeConnect. Simon has been developing HRIS reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services since its inaugural release in 2004, and provides us with expertise in designing and delivering BI reporting within HRIS. Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Human Resources and Marketing and is also a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist.
Peter George - Senior Consultant
Peter is an experienced consultant and project manager, specialising in the fields of business analysis and modelling.
Over the past 10 years his decision support expertise has delivered measurable benefits to major private and public sector organisations both in NZ and the UK.
At Montage, Peter brings his experience in the fields of business intelligence, compliance, quality and risk management to ensure solutions provide decision analysis and performance improvement capabilities.
Robert Blaas - Senior BI Consultant
Robert has over 20 years of experience in the architecture, design and delivery of Business Intelligence solutions with a focus on the data structures required to effectively deliver business information. Over this time he has consulted with large multi nationals, local government and private companies in New Zealand and overseas.
Robert designs and develops enterprise data warehouses and large corporate data stores ensuring high quality data and information to business users. Robert enjoys working with people across a business to understand their requirements and translates these into sound technical structures. Having worked within multi-cultural environments, Robert is able to easily facilitate, mentor and coach business teams in meeting their information requirements.
Robert is also the Leader of the Christchurch SQL Server User Group
Ian Luxton - CRM Specialist
Ian ’s strong sense of customer advocacy, built up over 20 years specialist experience in Customer Support and management of Sales and CRM business systems, drives him to deliver CRM solutions that fit the real world needs of Montage’s customers. Ian also has IT infrastructure management experience and he spent several years as the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Architect in a global manufacturing company. Ian is an expert in the configuration and deployment of this very popular platform.
Paul Brown - Consultant
Paul worked as a Management Accountant for over 10 years in the UK and Australia. He then managed a Business Support Team of business analysts and data warehouse specialists at a south island District Health Board. In this role Paul oversaw the delivery of a BI solution to provide financial and activity reporting and analysis. Using his considerable experience he now provides business consultancy services to public and private enterprises and has been working with Montage Business Intelligence for a number of years.
At Montage Paul uses his background in both accounting and health in the areas of business requirements, process redesign and aligning operational accountability with strategic goals. Paul provides the necessary connection between the needs of business users and the design and delivery of the IT solution.
Simon Olliver - Principal Consultant
Simon has over 20 years of experience empowering businesses with system and process advances. After starting out in audit Simon embarked on his OE beginning with an implementation of international financial reporting and BI for the world’s largest Drinks Company. Simon then spent the next 15 years leading ERP and BI implementations for some of the Europe’s leading companies across a variety of sectors including Manufacturing, Logistics, Financial Services/Leasing, Facilities Management, Health, and Utilities before returning to Christchurch.
Simon is a Chartered Accountant (NZ), holds a B.Com from Canterbury (NZ) and is a PRINCE2 accredited practitioner (project management).
Simon’s aspires to make a positive difference to customers’ success. Simon realises this by sound programme management, trusted stakeholder relationships and the connection of business processes, business information and technological solutions.
David Tayler - Marketing and Business Development
David worked for several years in the UK, Ireland and Australia in various Business Analyst, Business Development and Marketing roles before returning to NZ in 2004 to focus on his career in the fast paced IT industry.
David brings a wealth of experience to his role as Marketing and Business Development Manager for Montage, playing a key role in working with customers, new business opportunities and partners, as well utilising his marketing and communication skills to develop the exciting Montage brand.
Suné de Vos - BI Consultant
Suné started her career in the IT industry more than 10 years ago, having worked in South Africa, the UK and now in New Zealand she found her vocation in data, and the process of transforming data into meaningful information helping organizations make better decisions.
Well experienced in dimensional modelling, database architecture, design and implementation, Suné incorporates best practices and adept designs to ensure long term success to organizations. Having successfully implemented Microsoft BI solutions across a variety of economic sectors including Banking, Human Resources, Finance and Retail; Suné has in depth understanding of the different components and requirements across industries.
Suné completed her B.Com (Informatics) degree in South Africa, and has been Microsoft Certified IT Professional and Trainer since 2008. She’s presented various Microsoft Official Curriculum courses and is involved in the SQL and BI community programs, most recently as a founding committee member of SQL user group in South Africa.
